Writing tips

The most important part of the e-mail. which many, unfortunately, may omit altogether. Here you write what exactly do you expect from the addressee, in what time frame, etc. Whether it is a reply to a letter, a callback, or specific actions.

polite end of the letter, where you indicate your contact details and wishes, usually looks like this:

Sincerely, (polite pardon, note the trailing comma that can be omitted)

Sales manager, CBM group (job title and company name)

Possible phrases to complete your letter:

  • Regards / Best Regards - best wishes

  • Sincerely yours, David / Yours sincerely  - sincerely your David / yours sincerely...

  • Respectfully - Regards ...

  • Cordially / Cordially yours - yours cordially

  • With sincere appreciation - with sincere gratitude

  • Looking forward to hearing from / meeting with you / seeing you soon -  I look forward to hearing from you / meeting with you

  • Looking forward to your reply/response on this matter - I look forward to your reply on this matter

  • We look forward to your continued participation/support / assistance on this matter/situation - we are waiting for your participation/support / assistance in this matter/situation

  • Thank you for your patience and cooperation - thank you for your patience and cooperation

  • Thank you for your consideration - thanks for your attention

If you need to attach a document or photo to your e-mail, please indicate this with a similar phrase:

  • Attaching a copy of my resume and portfolio -  attach my resume/portfolio

  • You will find my resume attached below - below you will find my resume

Do not forget before sending your email proofread - re-read it for typos.  

  • Greeting: Dear, Elma! (an official appeal to a person whose name is known)

  • Intro:  I am writing with the regard to your resume and the call we had last Saturday. (Intro - introductory part, to make it clear what the letter will be about)

  • Old Body: Unfortunately, the AT Moment <br> we are not hiring for a position of the main the HR manager Have...  But, taking Into account the skills and you have your experience in this onto a sphere, Our Company About enterprise | may have another interesting offer for you. We would like to invite you for a meeting at our main office. (the main part of the letter)  Possible days are Friday and Saturday, 12-3 pm

  • Action: Please, let us know your decision and contact us to confirm the date. (action part - what actions we expect in response to the letter)

One more example. Mr. Black writes to Miss Green and thanks for the job offer.

  • Subject line: Position of the Assistance Editor

  • Greeting: Dear Mrs. Green,

  • Intro: Thank you very much for offering me the position of Assistance Editor in your magazine. I have for a long time admired the high level of professionalism that your magazine displays, and therefore I consider it a privilege to work with you.

  • Body: I intend to demonstrate that you made no mistake by hiring me by performing my job the best way I can. I have already contacted the HR department and they provided me with the details I need to start the project right away.

  • Action: Look forward to cooperating with you support/assistance support/assistance at the nearest time.
